Traditional Canarian dress is required to attend this event
Adeje’s Plaza de España will, for another year, host the traditional Baile de Magos next Thursday 29 May from 8.30pm, one of the most representative celebrations in the municipality’s festive calendar.
The event is organised by the Adeje Municipal School of Folklore Group, with the support of Adeje Town Hall, and will feature the participation of different folklore groups offering an evening dedicated to Canarian music and traditions.
The event will be open to everyone wishing to attend as members of the public, although appropriate traditional Canarian dress will be required for entry to the venue.
This year, most of the participating groups are from the municipality. They include Rondalla Santa Ana, Piedra Redonda, Boleros de Armeñime, Asociación Cultural Imoque, La Diata, the Adeje Municipal School of Folklore Group, the Adeje School of Ethnography and Folklore Training Project and Quimbao La Nuit.
Through celebrations such as these Adeje is keeping traditions alive and highlighting the importance of cultural heritage. As has become customary, Radio Sur Adeje 107.9 FM will broadcast a special programme dedicated to the Baile de Magos this year. The programme will begin at 8pm and will address the importance of traditions in today’s society. [Comunicación Adeje]
